In 1844, a young Bavarian immigrant arrives in New York, seeking a new beginning. He is joined by his brothers, and together they lay the foundation for what will become Lehman Brothers. Over the next 163 years, the firm grows into a global financial powerhouse, only to spectacularly collapse into bankruptcy, precipitating the largest financial crisis in history. The play explores the rise and fall of a family and its impact on the world.
