Mystery Team

The Mystery Team, consisting of Jason, Duncan, and Charlie, presents themselves as amateur detectives still grappling with the challenges of adolescence. They specialize in lighthearted cases typically concerning children’s issues, such as locating lost pets and retrieving stolen baseball cards, all while juggling the pressures of impending adulthood.

As graduation approaches, the trio is approached by Brianna, a local girl in distress. She seeks their help with a harrowing case involving the double homicide of her parents, presenting the boys with an opportunity to prove their worth as detectives.

The Mystery Team meets Brianna's older sister, Kelly, who warns them not to interfere with the professional investigation. Despite her concerns, Jason persuades Duncan and Charlie to continue their inquiry into the shocking case.

Jason leads his friends in searching for clues, reuniting with an acquaintance named Jordy. He discovers a lead about a local vagrant named Sam, who may have crucial information regarding the murder investigation.

Following the lead from Jordy, the Mystery Team heads to a bowling alley where they hope to gather more intel. Here, they meet Dougie, who is tied to the case, and obtain significant information that directs them further.

The team's pursuit of Dougie takes them to a seedy gentlemen's club. Despite being discovered by a bouncer, they use quick thinking to eavesdrop on conversations, revealing that Kelly’s missing ring ended up in an unexpected and unsavory location.

After recovering the ring, Jordy provides information about Dougie's connection to Leroy Maddox, a dangerous drug dealer. This new lead reveals the existence of a toxic substance named Iphedolene being hidden in Leroy's dealings.

The Mystery Team finds themselves in a precarious situation when Leroy confronts them at Kelly's house. The encounter turns into a tense hostage scenario, forcing Jason to think quickly for an escape.

In an unforeseen twist, the boys discover the dead bodies of Leroy and his girlfriend at the lumberyard. This gruesome revelation shakes Duncan's faith in their mission, creating tension within the group.

A heated argument between Jason and Duncan erupts after the shocking discovery. This confrontation leads to a fracture in their friendship, highlighting their differing views on the investigation.

Jason uncovers Robert's evil plan—he is using the toxic Iphedolene in wood treatment, a scheme that led to the deaths of Kelly's father. Realizing the urgency, Jason reassembles with his friends to rescue Kelly from Robert's grasp.

A climactic standoff at the lumberyard ensues, revealing Robert's sinister motives. With the team pitted against Robert, they manage to escape a life-threatening situation thanks to Charlie's quick reflexes amidst the chaos.
