Set in Yugoslavia after Tito’s break with Moscow and his death, schoolboy Martin uses absurd humor that lands him in trouble with teachers and his girlfriend. His uncle, a senior bureaucrat, shields Martin and their grandfather, who refuses to hand over his farm to the collective. The film shows personal rebellion against a repressive regime.
