In April 1992, a sprawling family in Yugoslavia gathers as their elderly matriarch lies dying. A doctor’s initial prognosis of minutes to live proves inaccurate, prolonging the waiting period into days. Tensions rise as relatives quarrel, play pranks, and argue over the inheritance of the family’s large house in Sarajevo. Despite her failing health, the grandmother surprisingly joins the chaos, seemingly invigorated by the family’s antics. Petty feuds and schemes targeting one of the sisters overshadow the increasingly alarming signs of impending war. When the truth is revealed, it’s too late – war has broken out in Sarajevo.
