Landowner Munk refuses to parcel his cherished wild moorland. His friend Martin Hald tries to mediate, in vain. Munk also worries about his nephew Jørgen, raised by him, who is imprisoned on a false charge. In jail Jørgen befriends Fusser, and after release Fusser vows to investigate Jørgen’s case.
