Vesterman finds a seal in his nets and gives it to Tjorven on Saltkråkan, who names it Moses. Peter Malm wants to buy the animal, but Tjorven refuses. Needing money, Vesterman tries to retrieve the seal, forcing the children to hide it. After a rabbit and a lamb are found dead, the dog Båtsman is blamed and Tjorven’s father must shoot him, until Söderman discovers a fox was the culprit. Peter backs off; seal stays with kids.
