Based on the true 1977 hijacking of Lufthansa Flight 181 by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, the film follows stewardess Gabriele Dillmann’s determined effort to protect terrified passengers. Chancellor Helmut Schmidt refuses to negotiate as the plane is forced to Somalia, where terrorists execute a crew member and threaten the hostages while German counter‑terrorism prepares a rescue.
