On his wedding morning, Max realizes the ceremony is minutes away. He scrambles to dress, fighting a refractory collar while his boots catch fire and become unusable. With no time to replace them, he rushes to his bride’s house; en route the soles detach, forcing him to haggle with a passing laborer for new footgear.
