The title is a double‑meaning pun, alluding to the ‘wrong genre’ and a lecherous figure. Novelist Martial Bok promotes his erotic book La Fille de Dos with signings & TV ads. When hat designer Camille buys the book, Martial stalks her, watching her read and undress, which fuels his obsessive manuscript, while his girlfriend Lucie contacts Camille.
