It’s in this crucible of ambition and care that he crosses paths with Nazeera Khanum [Nithya Menen], a mysterious young woman who always keeps her face veiled behind a niqab. Nazeera moves through Ram’s world with a quiet presence, and she is seldom alone, her friend Jyoti [Pavani Gangireddy] always by her side. Nazeera joins Parvathi’s music class and introduces herself as Khanum, a name that will soon weave itself into Ram’s life in unexpected ways.

As Ram earns praise at the state athletics championship, a fan asks for his autograph and reveals a small, revealing detail: it was Nazeera who requested it. This moment marks the beginning of a complicated bond between them. Nazeera, who sees something in Ram beyond the race, helps him in a practical way—she funds his shoes when he cannot afford them, and she takes his medals in return, a sign of a partnership built on mutual sacrifice and trust. On a train journey to Delhi, fate steps in when Nazeera’s veil momentarily lifts, and Ram finally sees her true face. He wins the national medal, and back home, Parvathi prepares badam kheer to celebrate, while Nazeera’s presence becomes more intimate. A pivotal moment arrives when Ram’s mother calls Nazeera by her name, reaffirming that Parvathi knows about the unique bond they share. The revelation deepens: Nazeera is the one who could provide what Ram needs, and the two begin to understand the depth of their connection. Yet tragedy strikes when Parvathi dies, leaving Ram to face the loss and the ensuing void. Nazeera tries to reach Ram, but circumstances pull them apart, and she heads to Malaysia.
