Ravi meets Surendra at his travel office on a rainy night. Surendra wears a large emerald ring and offers Ravi a lift in his car, sealing their brief interaction. Soon after, Surendra is kidnapped and a ransom of ₹5 lakhs is demanded by unknown abductors.

Six months later, Surendra's dead body is discovered in a gutter, shocking everyone. CID Inspectors Khurana and Kulkarni interrogate Ravi, since he was the last person to have met Surendra. Ravi sticks to his alibi and worries about being implicated in the murder.

Ravi experiences recurring headaches and seeks medical help. Dr. Shah orders an X-ray that reveals a brain tumour requiring immediate surgery, with possibilities ranging from a full cure to severe side effects. He is overwhelmed by the sense of responsibility toward his family.

Meanwhile, Narendra announces a reward of ₹5 lakhs for Surendra's killer. Ravi devises a scheme to frame himself and secure money for his family, calling Khurana anonymously and planting fake evidence. The plan aims to ensure the killer is caught and the reward is claimed.

Khurana and Kulkarni arrest Ravi based on the planted evidence. In court, Ravi falsely confesses that he kidnapped Surendra, tied him up at an isolated location, and killed him in a ransom attempt. He is sentenced to death, devastating his family and Neela.

Two months later, Ravi experiences another headache and is rushed to the prison hospital. Dr. Shah performs an emergency brain surgery, which succeeds without apparent side effects. However, Ravi remains a convicted man facing execution.

Ravi, with Neela and his lawyer Rane, seeks to reopen the case by finding fresh evidence. He escapes from the hospital and goes into hiding with Neela to chase down Surendra's real killer.

Ravi and Neela follow the emerald ring to Mahipat Rai, who reveals the ring was sold to him by a curio shop owner. The trail leads to Michael D'Souza, a thief who confesses he stole the ring from Surendra on the rainy night.

Michael explains what he witnessed that night and names the killer as Narendra, Surendra's driver. He reveals Surendra was murdered and the kidnapping was staged to cover the crime. Narendra's involvement complicates the case and raises questions about the motive.

Prakash advises Michael to betray Ravi and strike a deal with Narendra for the reward. Michael plans an exchange where Ravi and Narendra will meet at an isolated cabin, with Michael intending to reveal the truth.

At the isolated cabin, Narendra shoots three bullets into Michael, gravely injuring him while Ravi and Neela look on. Narendra aims to escape but is thwarted as Ravi rushes to fetch a doctor. Michael dies in Ravi's arms after providing crucial testimony.

Before dying, Michael testifies that Ravi is innocent and that Narendra is Surendra's killer. Police arrive at the scene and arrest Narendra for Surendra's murder and Michael's murder. Ravi is acquitted as the real killer is brought to justice.

The film closes with Michael's funeral and a remembered oath that Ravi will be reunited with his family. The truth is established: Ravi's innocence is proven and his family can finally breathe again.
