Randy secures a job delivering pizzas at Señor Pizza. His paycheck is meager, and he worries it won't fund another semester of college. The job introduces him to customers and temptations alike.

Randy meets Alex Barnett, a wealthy Italian woman who pampers him and pays attention to his charm. The affair becomes a distraction and influences his mood and style. Alex's gifts and the secret correspondence with her co-worker Tony fuel the romance.

As Randy's stylish new look and cheerful demeanor grow, his father suspects Randy is gay and questions his direction. The suspicion strains the family dynamic and creates tension at home. The misunderstanding foreshadows the complications to come.

Alex returns to Italy and tells Randy that the next Señor Pizza order with extra anchovies will summon him again. Randy is disappointed to lose the affair but also curious about the potential for future wealth and attention.
