The sequel keeps the original’s stark realism. To curb violent crime by new mainland immigrants, the Royal Hong Kong Police, with Chinese authorities’ consent, send three detectives undercover as illegal immigrants to infiltrate the powerful gang behind the surge. The film offers tough, graphic action in a Hong‑Kong‑style nod to The French Connection.
