Characters & Themes
The narrative follows Greek conscripts during their 1967‑68 compulsory service as the country falls under military rule. Assigned to the newly created Armed Forces Television—run by the army’s cinematographic unit previously limited to propaganda—they must produce entertainment for civilians and troops. Many are former film workers, others learn on the job, creating absurdly comic situations that blur fact and fiction.
