During the Civil War, Dr. March leaves his wife and their four daughters—Meg, ambitious Jo, shy Beth, and artistic Amy—behind. While their mother manages the household, the girls befriend their shy neighbor Mr. Lawrence and his grandson Laurie. Together they face Aunt March’s temper, sibling rivalries, love, loss and the hopes of a safe return for their father.
