Set in the 17th‑century Caucasus, the story follows Onise, who at his friend’s wedding realizes he loves his wife Dzija yet swears to protect her as a brother. Anisa prefers Jiji but, bound by family will, marries Gugu. Soon Prince Eristavi’s troops march on their free mountain community, where loyal friends, including Onise and Havisbury Gotcha, instruct their son to guard the strategic pass.
