After Pierre Lentier, a solitary factory worker in his thirties, murders an eight‑year‑old child under gruesome circumstances, he is quickly condemned to death. The film follows his marginal existence on society’s fringe and paints a stark, uncompromising critique of capital punishment and the media’s manipulative exploitation of such cases.
