On October 6, 1973, the conflict between Egypt and Syria against Israel escalates significantly. This undeclared war sees intense military assaults in key regions, particularly the Sinai Peninsula and the Golan Heights.

In the midst of the warfare, Weinraub and his friend Ruso receive their summons as Israeli reservists. They are ordered to join the Egoz Reconnaissance Unit, preparing to engage in the ongoing conflict.

As Weinraub and Ruso make their way to the Golan Heights, they encounter unexpected difficulties. Their journey goes awry when they realize they are lost, forcing them to take a break by the roadside as they gather their bearings.

At dawn, the pair is approached by Dr. Klauzner, who requests transportation to the Ramat David air force base. After successfully dropping him off, they begin contemplating their next steps in the unfolding conflict.

Weinraub and Ruso make the decision to volunteer for a first-aid rescue team. They commit themselves to the perilous task of evacuating both deceased and injured soldiers from the front lines of the war.

By October 10, Weinraub and Ruso are chosen to be part of a helicopter crew on a classified mission to Syria. This deployment marks a critical point in their involvement in the conflict, filled with uncertainty and danger.

During their covert mission, tragedy strikes when their helicopter is struck by a missile. This sudden attack results in the death of one co-pilot, and all surviving members on board suffer injuries.

Despite the harrowing experience, Weinraub and Ruso manage to survive the missile attack. They are subsequently rescued by a second helicopter and taken to safety, defying the odds of the chaotic battlefield.

Their survival leads them to a field hospital where they receive medical treatment. This marks a significant turning point, as it abruptly concludes their direct participation in the war, leaving them to reflect on their experiences.

As they recuperate at the field hospital, Weinraub and Ruso process the trauma and chaos of war. This experience bonds them deeply and leaves an indelible mark on their lives, shaping their future and perspective.
