Kim Possible [Christy Carlson Romano] is a high-school cheerleader who also saves the world as a globe-trotting crime-fighter, and Ron Stoppable [Will Friedle] is her loyal sidekick and best friend, joined by their talking naked mole-rat Rufus [Nancy Cartwright]. Together they form a team that thrives on quick wit, daring rescues, and a shared sense of humor that keeps their missions grounded in friendship even when the stakes are extraordinary.
As a new school year kicks off, Ron discovers he’ll be moving to Norway for his mother’s work, a development that presses pause on their adventures and tests the strength of their partnership. Meanwhile, a notorious quartet—Dr. Drakken [John DiMaggio], his ally Shego [Nicole Sullivan], and their eccentric henchmen Duff Killigan [Brian George] and Monkey Fist [Tom Kane]—hatches a plan to steal the Time Monkey idol, a small magical statue that enables travel through time. Kim chases their trail across continents, but the villains manage to piece together the Time Monkey and power it up, slipping away before Kim can stop them.
Out of nowhere, a visitor arrives from the future: Rufus 3000 [Michael Dorn], a talking mole-rat descended from Rufus, who brings Kim a time-travel device and a stark warning. The Supreme One has seized control of the future world, and only Kim has the chance to set things right. This revelation shifts the mission from a routine pursuit to a race against time itself, and it sets the stage for the film’s most audacious twists.
In a bid to derail Kim’s crime-fighting path, the villains decide to travel back to Kim’s first days—before she fully embraced her destiny. Drakken, Killigan, and Monkey Fist transform into children and slip back to Kim’s preschool era to try to bully a four-year-old Kim into abandoning hero work. They disguise themselves as schoolmates and test Kim’s resolve, while a young Ron forms an unlikely early bond with her. The present-day Kim enters the scene through a time portal, ready to confront Shego’s adult plan now that the younger version is discovering her own interests and strengths.
The adults’ attempt to tamper with the past is foiled when they return to adulthood and leap forward to Kim and Ron’s very first adventure. Monkey Fist undertakes a bold move into the ancient past, pulling out a colossal stone gorilla that threatens to crush Kim and Ron in their pre-teen years. The young Kim and Ron, with help from their future selves, manage to destroy the creature and push back against the threat. In the middle of this clash, Shego is visited by a version of herself from the future, who urges she steal the Time Monkey at all costs. The scheme is briefly foiled again as Drakken, Killigan, and Monkey Fist are taken into custody, but Shego escapes with the Time Monkey into the future.
Rufus 3000 returns to reveal a crucial twist: the true Supreme One is Shego, not Drakken, a revelation that reframes Kim’s understanding of the threat and her own role in the looming crisis. With this knowledge, Kim activates a portal and, along with Ron, Rufus, and Rufus 3000, steps twenty years into the future to confront Shego and the danger she has unleashed.
In the future, Shego dominates the world and subjects the population to oppression. Kim and Ron are captured and brought back to their old high school, where brainwashing awaits; they are saved, however, by Kim’s younger twin brothers, Tim and Jim, aided by Rufus 3000 and an army of naked mole-rats. The resistance movement coalesces around Wade Load, the group’s computer genius, and together they devise a plan to infiltrate Shego’s palace. Their mission escalates as they navigate the palace corridors, confronting Monkey Fist and Killigan—now a cyborg—while Shego sits on her throne, guarding the Time Monkey.
The showdown intensifies as Kim confronts Drakken, who has undergone genetic enhancements to become extraordinarily strong. Monique, Kim’s old ally, reappears in the resistance to assist the group, reinforcing the odds as the team fights their way toward the throne room. Despite their efforts, Kim and her friends are eventually overwhelmed, and Jim, Tim, Wade, and Rufus 3000 are captured by Killigan and Monkey Fist.
In a devastating turn, Shego lays bare the heart of her manipulations: she intentionally separated Kim and Ron by leveraging financial moves in the dot-com era and orchestrating Ron’s family move to Norway, reasoning that the pair are strongest when united. This revelation fuels Ron’s fury, and he confronts Drakken, overpowering him and, in a moment of catastrophic consequence, destroys the Time Monkey. The idol’s destruction undoes the time-stream alterations, causing Kim, Ron, and Rufus to be carried back through a time gate to the film’s very first scene—the last moment of Kim and Ron’s first day of school.
As the temporal disturbance passes, the world snaps back to its original state, with Shego’s future erased and the entire adventure fading from memory. Kim and Ron awaken to the normalcy of their everyday lives, left with no recollection of the extraordinary journey they just shared, and the cycle of their partnership resumes in its familiar, steady rhythm. Their bond remains intact in memory only as a quiet, enduring trust, ready to face new challenges together when the next call to action arrives, while the world—free of the future’s tyranny—goes on, seemingly unchanged but forever altered by the knowledge that time itself can bend to the courage of two unlikely heroes.
