On the day of graduation, 16-year-old Yuta Okkotsu is bullied by seniors at Tokyo High School. This event is documented as an initial manifestation of Rika's curse, marking the beginning of Yuta's connection to cursed spirits.

Yuta is held in detention as Satoru Gojo argues for his life, emphasizing his immense cursed energy and control over Rika. The Jujutsu Council debates whether he should be executed, but Gojo convinces them to let Yuta attend Tokyo Jujutsu High to learn to control his power. Yuta is reluctant but agrees to go for the sake of others' safety.

Yuta meets the first-year students Maki Ze'nin, Toge Inumaki, and Panda, who are curious or cautious about him. Rika's presence is sensed immediately, leading the students to corner Yuta and warn him about bullying him, as her manifestation is dangerous. Suguru Geto, a rogue cursed spirit user expelled from Jujutsu High, publicly announces plans to conduct the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons, declaring war on humanity and Jujutsu High. He mocks the students and warns of impending chaos, revealing his intentions to build a paradise for curses while challenging the sorcerers' authority.

Yuta faces Geto unprotected at Jujutsu High, calling upon Rika to manifest fully for the second time. They engage in a fierce battle, with Yuta using cursed speech and Rika’s immense cursed energy to fight Geto. Yuta vows to save Rika and defeat Geto, exhibiting his growth as a sorcerer.
