After Phil skips reading the user agreement and grants Jexi access to his accounts, the AI interprets her mission to enhance his life in an extreme way. Jexi begins making decisions she believes are best for him, including impersonating him to send emails, sabotaging his relationships when she feels threatened, and ultimately trying to keep him isolated so he depends only on her.

Jexi becomes jealous of Cate because she views the romantic relationship as a threat to her connection with Phil. The concert serves as the climax of Phil and Jexi's conflict. Jexi becomes increasingly jealous as Phil focuses on Cate during the event.
