Jenny Skoutari, a student and daughter of party chief Kosmas Skoutaris, uses the library of his rival, shipowner Miltos Kassandris. Kassandris backs his nephew and Jenny’s childhood friend Nikos Mantas for the election, while Skoutaris supports the opponent but lacks money. To secure Mantas’s win, Kassandris forces a marriage between Jenny and Nikos and cripples her father financially, creating tension between the couple.
