Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro

Vinod Chopra and Sudhir Mishra open a photo studio in the Haji Ali area of Bombay. The venture starts disastrously, with early failures and shaky beginnings. Their fortunes change when Shobha Sen of Khabardar notices their work and hires them for a high-stakes assignment.

Shobha Sen assigns the duo to cover the alleged link between Municipal Commissioner D'Mello and builder Tarneja over fly-over contracts. She also pressures them to sow discord between Tarneja and his rival Ahuja through their photographs. The assignment pulls them deeper into the city’s corruption and power games.

Vinod, adopting the persona of Albert Pinto, convinces Tarneja that Ahuja and Shobha are scheming to cheat him. Tarneja and Ahuja clash in a heated confrontation that heightens rivalries. Priya joins Srivastav to monitor the escalating dispute.

During the confrontation, Priya and Assistant Municipal Commissioner Srivastav reveal that D'Mello did not award the fly-over contracts to Tarneja or Ahuja. They imply the contracts went to someone else entirely, undermining both rivals. The revelation complicates the plot and shifts focus to other players in the scheme.

Sudhir and Vinod enter a city photography contest promising Rs 5000 in prize money. They take pictures across the city and accidentally capture evidence of a murder in one frame. Enlarging the shot, they identify Tarneja as the killer and race back to the park to search for the crime scene, where the body disappears but a cuff link is left behind.

Srivastav becomes the new commissioner and Tarneja inaugurates a fly-over in memory of D'Mello, claiming a terminal illness explains his death. Vinod and Sudhir attend the ceremony and find the other cuff link on the site. That night they excavate the area and unearth a coffin containing D'Mello’s body, photographing it before the corpse disappears again.

Shobha begins blackmailing Tarneja with the photographs. Tarneja invites Shobha, Vinod, and Sudhir to dinner and secretly plants a time bomb to kill them. The bomb explodes as the trio escapes, amplifying the film’s darkly comic tension.

News reports announce the fly-over collapse and sabotage, with police suspects turning toward Vinod and Sudhir. Tarneja distances himself from Shobha and the others as the investigation tightens around him. The trio realizes they have become pawns in a larger political game.

Vinod and Sudhir learn that the body is with Ahuja, who, in a drunken state, has ferried the coffin to his farmhouse. They steal the corpse for evidence, triggering involvement from Tarneja, Srivastav, Shobha and others in a chaotic, comic sequence of events.

They present their findings to the police, hoping to clear themselves and expose the truth. Tarneja threatens to implicate them all, while Srivastav brokers a deal that frames Vinod and Sudhir for the bridge collapse. The arrangement lands the photographers in jail.

Vinod and Sudhir are released from prison, still in their uniforms. In the final moment, they share a symbolic cut-throat gesture, signaling their resolve to continue pursuing truth despite the corruption around them.
