Shep, a space pilot, is daydreaming about Stella aboard his guitar-shaped ship. He receives a distress call about the kidnapping and pursues the abductors through a wormhole. He crash-lands on Earth, beginning a mission to recover the band.

In an underground facility, the musicians' memories are erased and replaced with fake ones, while their blue skin is altered to resemble humans. They are fitted with hidden mind-control sunglasses and presented as a new band, The Crescendolls, who quickly rise to fame. Authorities locate Shep's ship along with Veridis Quo and plan to restore the Crescendolls' original memories, returning them to their home planet via the wormhole. As they enter the wormhole, Darkwood's spirit attacks, but Shep's spirit appears and defeats him, freeing the band.
