To end the blood feud, a police inspector arranges the marriage between Bharathasimha Reddy's brother Vijayasimha and Siva Reddy's sister. The peace plan collapses when Siva Reddy's sister poisons Vijayasimha on their wedding night, killing him. Siva Reddy and his men retaliate by killing Bharathasimha Reddy, and Siva Reddy is arrested and sentenced to fourteen years in prison.

With the male leaders dead, Indrasena 'Indra' Reddy steps up to lead the clan. He claims the throne in a ceremonial moment, taking a sword and sitting on it as the crowd celebrates his ascent.

In 2002, Indra lives in Varanasi under the alias Shankar Narayana, working as a taxi driver. He is known for his truthfulness and his quiet, service-minded nature.

Indra confronts Veera Shankar Reddy, allowing the mourning mother to bury her son and planting a Tulasi sapling over his grave to symbolize the boy's soul. He warns Veera Shankar Reddy to protect the plant or face his wrath.

A village drought leads Indra to negotiate for a reservoir that would bring water to the village, requiring land from Siva Reddy's family. Veera Shankar Reddy demands Indra give up his entire property in return, and Indra agrees; Snehalatha offers to marry Indra as her share of the land, and he accepts.

In the present, Nandini's pregnancy brings Indra back to the village, where he is greeted as a hero. He confronts Veera Shankar Reddy and insists that Manohar Reddy marry Nandini. Snehalatha learns the truth and tries to help, but is attacked; Indra saves her and vows to end the cycle of revenge without killing Veera. Manohar Reddy marries Nandini, while Indra rejects marriage proposals from Snehalatha and Pallavi, earning broad support from the villagers.
