In modern‑day North America, women are confined in isolated polygamous sects that hide abuse behind “freedom of religion.” Judith Joseph, raised by the sect’s “God’s Keepers,” decides to protect her teenage daughter from the same fate. She burns her home, flees with her five children, and confronts the harsh reality of life outside, determined to build a new future despite lacking support.
