Dr. Reineger, a neuro‑psychologist, diagnoses twin Anna with Asperger’s syndrome, while her blind sister Sarah shares her visions. After their father leaves and an earthquake kills their mother, the girls retreat into imagination. Reineger becomes obsessed, seeing their dreams as prophetic. The twins flee his care and disappear, suggesting they have crossed into a realm; the film blends live‑action and stop‑motion to create a surreal journey.
