Set in the late 1980s Los Angeles, this acclaimed 1992 indie follows 27‑year‑old photographer Ethan, who shuns commitment and lives by one‑night stands. His friend Dennis drags him to a Palm Springs reunion of college friends and former lovers, where the getaway devolves into heavy drinking and cruel sexual games. After the chaotic “vacation,” Ethan returns home, confronts a strained relationship with his father, and discovers he can create his own chosen family among accepting friends.
