On the third day of filming the low-budget horror movie 'Tonight They Come' in New Zealand, director SMP faces a chaotic situation with a demanding lead actor and a troublesome actress. Things escalate when a new runner, aspiring screenwriter Wesley Pennington, joins the crew and develops a crush on the set caterer. A disturbing contamination of the local water supply transforms the zombie extras into genuinely terrifying creatures, blurring the line between reality and fiction.
