How God Created Us: Coming Out in the Catholic Church

This documentary shares the stories of 125 employees of the Catholic Church in Germany who have come out as queer. Featuring priests, religious brothers, teachers, and social workers, the film explores the challenges faced by those who identify as non-heterosexual within the institution. Many recount experiences of intimidation, denunciation, and years spent living double lives, fearing repercussions and potential job loss. The film highlights a system where pressure and fear often leave employees uncertain about the consequences of embracing their sexual orientation or identity while remaining faithful to their beliefs.
