In Seoul during the year 1994, we are introduced to Eun-hee, a 14-year-old girl. She comes from a working-class background and is on the verge of starting high school, revealing her hopes and dreams.

Eun-hee shares a close friendship with Ji-hu Park as they both attend cram school together. Their time spent studying and drawing strengthens their bond and creates a safe space for both.

Eun-hee is secretly dating her boyfriend, Ji-wan, who holds a special place in her heart. This secret adds complexity to her teenage life, as she balances love with the challenges of adolescence.

Eun-hee deals with emotional neglect from her parents, particularly her father, who focuses more on her older brother. Unfortunately, this leads to Eun-hee being mistreated by her brother as well.

At cram school, Eun-hee meets Ms. Kim, her new free-spirited Chinese teacher. They form an instant connection, which provides Eun-hee with a mentor and someone who genuinely cares for her emotional well-being.

On a fun night out dancing, Eun-hee encounters Yu-ri, a schoolgirl who seems interested in her. This encounter blossoms into a budding friendship, adding a layer of emotional depth to Eun-hee's life.

Eun-hee discovers a lump behind her ear that requires surgery, escalating her anxiety and complicating her life further. This health scare serves as a pivotal moment, forcing her to confront her fears.

A tense moment arises when Eun-hee and Ji-hu get caught shoplifting. In a panic, Ji-hu reveals their identities to their parents, leading to serious repercussions that strain their friendship.

After the shoplifting incident, Eun-hee confronts Ji-hu about the betrayal, but they remain unresolved in their apologies. Meanwhile, Ji-wan is pressured to break up with Eun-hee due to her lower social standing.

As Eun-hee prepares for surgery, her father has an unexpected emotional breakdown, revealing his love and concern for her. This moment catches Eun-hee off guard, altering her perception of her father's strict nature.

A tragic event unfolds when the Seongsu Bridge collapses, leading Eun-hee to fear for her sister. She learns her sister survived, which brings temporary relief but complicates her emotions further.

Eun-hee receives a package from Ms. Kim, only to learn of her tragic death in the bridge collapse. As she reflects on her family's dynamics and their shared grief, she grows in her understanding of loss and healing.
