At eighteen, Agathe yearns to leave the rainy Belgian beaches of her youth. She hitchhikes toward the South of France, hoping for fresh experiences. Along the way to Paris, various men offer rides; some are kind, others try to exploit her, and one even attacks with a knife. Undeterred, she continues toward Valence and finally Aix‑en‑Provence.
