The ransom request immediately conflicts with King’s business ambitions, complicating his financing plan. The clock begins ticking on both the ransom and the deal.

King contacts the police and consults with his wife Pam about paying the ransom. After a long night of weighing risks, he agrees to meet the demands, prioritizing Trey’s safety over the deal. The decision binds his personal crisis to the larger corporate objective.

The kidnapper targets Trey but ends up abducting Kyle, the son of King’s driver and confidant Paul Christopher. Trey is later found safe, revealing the bungled ransom plan. The misdirection compounds the danger facing those around King.

News of the ransom story drives King into the spotlight, and several Stackin' Hits tracks climb the charts. Simultaneously, lenders threaten to seize the collateral unless the funds are returned or the deal proceeds, framing a hard deadline on his financial obligations.

Kyle remembers a distinctive hip-hop track, leading King to suspect Yung Felon, an aspiring rapper who idolizes him, as the kidnapper. Police dismiss the lead, prompting King and Paul to pursue Felon’s address themselves. The pursuit becomes a deeply personal mission for King.

King and Paul track Felon to his recording studio, where an impromptu rap exchange reveals Felon’s motive. A gunfight erupts, Felon escapes onto a nearby elevated subway train, and King chases after him into the chaos of the city’s transit system. The showdown shifts from studio to steel rails in a flash.

King pursues Felon along the platform and onto the train, finally catching him between cars and knocking him unconscious. Paul’s injury from the gunfight marks a personal cost to the pursuit, but the immediate threat to the family is resolved. The law and consequences begin to shape the aftermath.

Felon accepts a 25-year prison sentence in a plea deal, contingent on meeting King face-to-face. When they meet, Felon pitches signing with King, but King reveals he has left Stackin’ Hits to start a smaller label and rejects the deal. The encounter cements King’s shift away from the old empire toward a more measured path.

Back at their penthouse, King, Pam, and Trey audition Sula, a young singer-songwriter discovered by Trey. Her performance of 'Highest 2 Lowest' wows the Kings, who offer her a contract on their new label. The moment signals a fresh artistic direction after the chaotic sequence of events.
