Shuvo works as a collection agent for ICICI in Kolkata, and he leads a warm, content life alongside his friends and his father, Dibakar Burman Mithun Chakraborty, who dreams of seeing his son settled down and married soon. One day, Shuvo rushes to a hospital where a friend has been admitted after attempting suicide, and there he learns about the troubling traits of Maria Koel Mallick and her uncle Buddhadeb Kharaj Mukherjee. The pair have a notorious habit of cheating gullible young men, including Shuvo’s friend, and this knowledge fuels Shuvo’s decision to teach them a hard, unapologetic lesson.

Shuvo enters their world as a gullible youth, but his presence unsettles Maria’s uncle, whose schemes unravel in the face of his growing harassment. As part of their manipulative plot, Buddhadeb advises Maria to ask Shuvo to marry her. Fate seems to align when Shuvo himself brings a marriage proposal to Maria. The two confront Dibakar and reveal that Shuvo is in love with Maria and has proposed. The family expects this spark to enrage Dibakar, but he receives the news with warmth and approval. Yet the truth is more complicated: Maria had been engaged to Rohit Surajit Sen by her father in the past, adding tension to the growing relationship.

Days after, Shuvo saves Maria from a gang of goons and issues a sober warning to her about toying with people’s feelings. This act deepens Maria’s feelings for him, and she confides in Shuvo’s father, Dibakar Burman. Dibakar, choosing to protect his son’s future happiness, delays the final decision and places trust in Maria’s father, who promises that Shuvo will not be a problem. However, Rohit’s mother warns Maria’s father that she would be subjected to hardship after marriage if she ends up with Shuvo. Heeding these cautions, Maria’s father officially marries Maria to Shuvo, a move Rohit’s mother rebukes, summoning Bhavani Pathak Bharat Kaul to intervene.

Bhavani arrives at the wedding venue with his henchmen, swiftly recognizing Shuvo and Dibakar as his oldest foes: Raj and Kaka. A tense confrontation erupts as Shuvo fights off the goons, while Bhavani stabs Dibakar and abducts Maria, fleeing to Ranigunj. Dibakar is rushed to the hospital, and Shuvo begins telling his story from the beginning, tracing back to the Ranigunj era.

In Ranigunj, Bhavani conspires to topple Kaka’s empire with the help of Raj Dev, forging a dangerous alliance. Raj—bold, aggressive, and clever—begins to dismantle Kaka’s grip as he falls in love with Dr. Nandini Sayantika Banerjee, who reciprocates his feelings. Bhavani’s older son Shakti attempts to wound Nandini with acid, but Kaka intervenes, killing Shakti. Nandini discovers that Raj is a criminal and the enemy of her father, but she pleads with both Raj and her father to abandon their life of crime. Raj improves his ways, guided by Rudra’s counsel, and Bhavani insists that Raj and Nandini elope. Meanwhile, Rudra murders Nandini fatally, and Raj retaliates by killing Rudra. The two brothers eventually reject the path of crime and choose a quieter life, and they later relocate to Kolkata.

Back in the present, Maria’s father is forced to face the truth that Maria’s marriage is being arranged with Rohit. Shuvo races to the scene as a fight breaks out between Shuvo and Bhavani’s henchmen; Dibakar arrives to lend his support. In the climactic moment, Shuvo stands on the brink of killing Bhavani, but Dibakar intervenes, stopping him and preventing a final act of vengeance. The story closes on a note of reconciliation as Shuvo and Maria seek the blessings for their marriage, embracing a future built on love tempered by hard-won wisdom and the steadfast protection of family.
