Hellboy II: The Golden Army - Zinco Epilogue

Trevor Bruttenholm recounts to a young Hellboy the ancient war between humans and magical creatures. Balor builds a Golden Army that devastates humanity, prompting a fragile truce. The crown that commands the Golden Army is split into three pieces, and Nuada leaves in exile.

Nuada returns in present day to reclaim the crown pieces and begins with the first piece, which he extracts at an auction by unleashing tooth fairies that attack the crowd. He uses the chaos to seize the crown fragment for himself.

Nuada travels to Balor's fortress and kills his father to take the second piece. The act cements Nuada's resolve to renew the war between humans and magical beings.

Nuala escapes Nuada's pursuit with the final crown piece. She slips away to avoid capture, holding the piece close.

Hellboy's audacious actions during the auction fallout reveal the paranormal world to the public. Meanwhile, Abe Sapien discovers Liz is pregnant, a secret that will affect them both.

Krauss is dispatched to rein in Hellboy and restore order to the team. He takes temporary command as they pivot to pursuing the crown pieces.

The team traces the tooth fairies to a hidden troll market beneath the Brooklyn Bridge. There, Abe finds Nuala, who carries a map to the Golden Army, and he falls in love.

Nuada uses their magical bond to track his sister to the B.P.R.D., and the two share wounds and thoughts. Nuala is taken under the B.P.R.D.'s protection.

Nuada abducts Nuala and mortally wounds Hellboy with his spear. Liz and Abe decide to travel to the Golden Army's location at the Giant's Causeway, with Krauss joining them.

The Bethmoora goblin master leads the team to the Angel of Death to retrieve the spear shard. The Angel warns that Hellboy's life could doom humanity if he stays alive, but Liz pleads for mercy, and the spear shard is removed. Liz learns that Hellboy will become a father.

Abe gives the final crown piece, awakening the Golden Army. The ancient soldiers stir as the crown pieces come together and the army rises.

Hellboy defeats Nuada and spares him, but Nuada makes a final, desperate move. Nuala commits suicide to stop her brother, and Abe psychically shares his feelings with Nuala before she dies.

Liz uses her pyrokinesis to melt the crown, deactivating the Golden Army for good. The danger passes, but the cost is clear and heavy.

Hellboy, Liz, Abe, and Krauss resign from the B.P.R.D., and Hellboy contemplates his future life with Liz and their baby. Liz smiles and holds up two fingers, signaling a quiet optimism for what lies ahead.
