The Morning Mysteries documentary crew is invited to document the Insomnia production. They receive a guided tour of the hotel led by Jeff Stone, Russell's head of operations, and begin meeting the cast and crew. Their presence foreshadows how the unfolding chaos will be captured on film.

Russell greets Vanessa Shephard and introduces her to Gregory, Max, Jane, Isabel, and Harvey. The initial introductions establish early dynamics and tensions that will influence events later. The atmosphere hints at loyalties and rivalries within the project.

Cult members invade the hotel and massacre everyone inside. Vanessa is dragged to the basement and knocked out as a glowing red hole appears. Russell intervenes by fighting Tully and causing the roof to collapse, ending the immediate danger.

A news report the next day states that all audience and staff survived unharmed but Russell remains missing. Vanessa and Jeff attribute their survival to Russell's interference, casting him as a mysterious savior figure.

The original Hell House team suddenly returns, stuck in the empty hotel. Russell tells them he closed the gateway and that they were the ones who opened it, urging them to move on before disappearing himself. The team comforts each other as they face an uncertain fate.
