Meanwhile, Varun—a wandering, free-spirited traveler who has spent his childhood drifting after losing his parents in the United States—lives on the edge. He labels himself a “free soul,” avoids commitments, and makes a living through a string of part‑time jobs found on Craigslist, spending nights under the open sky with only a few cooking tools for company. His restless journey eventually carries him to Spain, where he crosses paths with Hayathi, an Indian woman seeking her place and love far from home. To capture her attention, Varun feigns a heart attack and secures her phone number, though her name remains a mystery to him at that moment.

In Spain, Hayathi hopes to win her father Ramana’s reluctant blessing for a love marriage with Haridas, an African musician, against the grain of his devout Krishna beliefs. Ramana’s stubborn stance against love marriages becomes the main obstacle, but Varun, through a blend of persistence and wit, nudges Ramana toward a change of heart. A bet is struck: Varun must help Ramana accept the match, and if he succeeds, Hayathi will grant him a kiss. Back in the shadows of Goa, Varun’s confrontation with Makarand’s gang intensifies. Seeking a path to a future together, Varun travels to Romania for perspective, where he meets Chitrangada, a woman with a similar distrust of lasting ties. Fueled by Chitrangada’s encouragement, he returns to Priya’s household and discovers a clue that Hayathi is in Goa, reigniting his pursuit.

Armed with renewed purpose and a little help from a mysterious ally, Varun heads to Goa to confront the tangled truth. He finds Hayathi, only to face resistance from Makarand and his associates, who reveal that Hayathi is also tightly bound to Makarand’s schemes and is being drawn into opium use. A brutal confrontation ensues as Varun fights to protect the woman he loves, and Ammu is killed in the process. In the heat of the moment, Varun slaps Hayathi, urging honesty about the stakes and the danger surrounding them.
