When Britain pushes into the modern era, the isolated village of Anderia Marsh clings to a centuries‑old claim—dating back to Henry III—to dodge customs duties. The government’s move to end the exemption sparks a quiet, comic rebellion. After a storm strands their ship and officials seize it, smugglers scramble to hide their contraband brandy before customs discover it.
