Before Confucianism took hold, Goryeo customs dictated that parents over 70 be left to die on a mountainside. In this ancient Korean kingdom, a nobleman courageously rebels against the brutal practice, refusing to abandon his aging mother to starvation despite societal pressure, and challenges the moral code of his era.
