Gintama: The Movie 2: The Final Chapter: Be Forever Yorozuya

In the dim cinema, Gintoki confronts the legendary movie thief who films inside theaters. The intruder taunts him, but Gintoki drags him into the camera lens and into a radically altered world. This moment marks the start of a strange journey into a future that is not his own.

Gintoki awakens to a transformed Edo, now an apocalyptic wasteland. A deadly threat called the White Curse looms over the land, and the Time Thief has given him a disguise to blend in. He must navigate a broken society while trying to understand how the past has fallen apart.

Gintoki reunites with his former freelancers, who have radically changed in this new world. Shinpachi is a cool samurai with no trace of his signature tsukkomi, while Kagura has become a beautiful woman with a strikingly different way of speaking. The ache of Gintoki's disappearance weighs on them as they confront a future where hope and danger coexist.

Three leaders tied to Edo’s turmoil—Isao Kondo, Kotaro Katsura, and Gengai Hiraga—are slated for execution. The ceremony devolves into a crisis when Kondo and Katsura are saved by a new alliance formed by underlings Sogo Okita, Toshiro Hijikata, and the mysterious Elizabeth. Gengai is revealed to be an impostor, hinting at deeper scheming behind the scenes.

Gintoki learns that the White Curse was born from the machinations of a sorcerous group called Enmi. The virus behind the curse has already begun to incubate, threatening the people he cares about most. The stakes rise as loyalties are tested and the threat moves closer to home.

The virus reaches Tae Shimura, Shinpachi’s sister, leaving her near death. To save her, Gintoki’s friends embark on a quest to locate Enmi and end the threat once and for all. This personal stake shifts the group from alliance-building to urgent, life-or-death action.

Gintoki confronts Enmi and kills them, only to discover that a version of his future self set these events in motion to ensure his own demise. The revelation reframes his mission and deepens the paradox of changing time. Yet the danger remains as the White Curse lingers.

Gintoki uses the repaired Time Thief to travel further back in time, aiming to erase his past self, the White Demon, before the virus can take hold. The mission intensifies as they chase a version of history that refuses to stay buried. The twist tightens the loop of causality.

A shocking twist reveals the White Demon is not a memory but Taizo Hasegawa, disguised to manipulate outcomes. This revelation shatters the protagonists' assumptions about their enemies and allies. Trust fractures as the true players behind the chaos come into focus.

Tama, the Time Thief, is revealed to have been used by people from the future to prevent Gintoki from erasing his own existence. She aids him in defeating Enmi before the curse can begin. Her role changes the stakes by linking personal fate to the broader timeline.

Gintoki, the White Demon, Tama, and the last generation of the old Jouishi unite with Katsura, Takasugi, Sakamoto, and others to confront Enmi. In a climactic battle, they defeat Enmi and halt the curse’s foothold on history. Peace returns long enough for Gintoki to reunite with the Yorozuya and begin the journey back to their original timeline.

Gintoki reunites with the Yorozuya and the trio renew their bond, returning to their own timeline with renewed resolve. The closing image shows the original Jōi members standing on a cliff, watching what remains. The post-credits scene hints that Gintoki, Shinpachi, and Kagura will continue to seek each other out.
