Gintama: The Movie 2: The Final Chapter: Be Forever Yorozuya

Gintoki is pulled through a cinema projector by the Time Thief (Tama) into an alternate future where he never existed. This happens because the White Curse, a deadly virus created by the Enmi group, has ravaged Edo. Future versions of characters orchestrated this timeline to prevent an even greater catastrophe, effectively erasing Gintoki from existence to change the course of history.

The movie opens with Gintoki confronting a 'movie thief' in the cinema, which is actually the Time Thief in disguise.

The White Curse is a deadly virus that transforms people into monsters and plunges Edo into an apocalyptic wasteland. It was created by a sorcerous group called Enmi as a biological weapon. The virus had already begun incubating by the time Gintoki arrives in the future, threatening everyone he cares about, particularly Tae Shimura who falls ill from it.

Future Gintoki orchestrated the entire White Curse scheme to ensure his own death at the hands of his past self. He believed this sacrifice was necessary to allow the present Gintoki to defeat Enmi and prevent the curse from ever taking hold. The White Demon is revealed to be Taizo Hasegawa in disguise, not a manifestation of Gintoki's past self as initially believed.
