The story begins with substitute teacher Mr. Carlyle leading three delinquent boys and one well-behaved student on a trek to the campsite. This sets the stage for their adventure and the challenges they will face.

Mr. Carlyle leaves the boys to find their way to the campsite using a map while heading off to the campsite himself. The boys start their journey, unaware of a man stalking them in the distance, hinting at impending danger. During their trek, they encounter various obstacles, setting the tone for their unpredictable adventure.

As DJ refuses to wear the offered boots, he throws them aside and inadvertently reveals a severed foot embedded in the ground. This shocking discovery hints at the darker elements lurking in the area and adds a sinister undertone to their hike. The scene introduces the eerie atmosphere that pervades the film.

Dean takes a combustible hash from his cousin and inadvertently sparks a small explosion, revealing his reckless nature. Later, Duncan devises a plan to use DJ’s mix CD and hash to ignite a makeshift bomb to scare off the hunter, escalating their misadventures in the wilderness. Their antics worsen as they teeter between danger and chaos.

The boys stop a farmer on his tractor to ask for directions. They engage in playful mischief by leaving stickers and a CD on his tractor. This scene highlights their playful ignorance and the rural setting, while also introducing an element of local color amidst their journey.

At the police station, Sergeant Morag presents evidence suggesting Duncan is a terrorist, aiming to secure her precinct’s funding by catching a major criminal. Police officer Hamish joins her as they track the boys’ location based on Duncan’s phone calls, despite confusion over Duncan’s identity and playful drug use.

The boys reunite with Mr. Carlyle at the campsite, noticing his suspicious burn wound. Believing he’s the Duke, they attempt to kill him by running him over, then stage his apparent suicide by rolling the minibus off a hill, unaware that Carlyle survived the attack.

The boys encounter the Duke and Duchess, who are revealed to be the actual antagonists. After Ian falls into a ditch and is hidden by Duncan, Dean, and DJ, they realize the villains are not as sinister as they initially thought, and the group begins to bond and plan their next move.

DJ finds himself partying with local farmers, consuming rabbit feces containing potent magic mushrooms. During this trippy experience, he invents a new rap, showcasing his confidence and creativity amidst the chaos. Meanwhile, the boys help Ian after he gets injured.

The next day, the boys tend to Ian’s wound, and he expresses feelings of being ignored and misunderstood. Dean affirms their friendship, emphasizing that they are all seen as losers, which brings a sense of camaraderie and closure to their wild night.

The boys confront the Duke and Duchess at the cliff’s edge, where they are cornered with weapons. The villains mock the youth, blaming their generation for ruining the world, prompting Dean to philosophize about adults' responsibility for the state of the planet. The minibus, finally rolling off a cliff, crushes the villains and their hunters.

As the minibus crashes, Mr. Carlyle is found injured but alive, and the boys attempt to revive him with powder and a fork. Morag and Hamish arrive, uncovering the stolen bread in the minibus, revealing the true local crime. The boys are hailed as heroes for thwarting the villains’ plans.

The boys prepare to head back home but are approached by girls about to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh Award. They give the girls weapons and signals to get help, embracing their newfound confidence. As they part ways, a mysterious hunter watches them from afar, hinting at ongoing adventures.
