In post‑World War II Tokyo’s ruined districts and black‑market stalls, a resilient group of prostitutes fight to survive, forging fragile friendships and imposing a shaky order amid chaos. Their fragile balance shatters when a rogue ex‑soldier arrives, sparking desire and clashing loyalties that end in tragedy. Director Seijun Suzuki blends vivid color, raw emotion and social critique into a pulpy, fever‑dream drama.
