In Thailand, every new police officer is assigned a family apartment in the state‑run “police flats.” Jane and Ann grow up in the same block, divided by floor levels and social rank. Jane, daughter of a questionable sergeant, enjoys comforts, while Ann cares for her family after her father’s death.
