Set in late‑1940s Portugal, André becomes a fugitive after escaping prison and must flee the country. In Oporto his friends arrange a guide: Lambaça, an experienced smuggler intimately familiar with the rugged Trás‑os‑Montes border that runs from Portugal into Spain, ready to lead him across.
