Fine, Totally Fine

Teruo Toyama, a 29-year-old man, lives with his father who runs a second-hand bookstore. He works as a non-regular employee for a gardening company and spends his days off making scary devices with his friend Hisanobu Komori. Despite a stable routine, Teruo begins to feel uncomfortable about his life situation.

Teruo's father becomes depressed and bedridden, prompting Teruo to take on responsibilities at the bookstore. His father's condition worsens, but then he decides to go on a wandering journey to recover from his depression, leaving Teruo to care for the store and himself.

Akari Kinoshita, a curious woman interested in homeless artists, comes for a job interview at a hospital cleaning company where Komori works. She unsuccessfully attempts to adapt to her new job, experiencing accidents such as breaking her finger and knocking over expensive medical equipment.

After a series of mishaps at her cleaning job, Akari consults with her boss and decides to quit. Komori, who has developed a crush on her, feels concerned and visits her at her apartment, leading to her being introduced to a new job at Teruo's bookstore.

Akari begins working at the bookstore with help from Teruo's sister Tomoko. As they work together, Teruo starts to fall in love with her, while Komori also becomes increasingly interested in her, creating a subtle rivalry.

Eitaro, Teruo's father, goes on a trip and finds a young girlfriend, which boosts his mood. He appears on a TV travel program, singing his own song with a ukulele, indicating he is recovering from his depression.

Yuhara, an antique restoration craftsman, visits Teruo’s store and shows interest in Akari's paintings, attempting to buy one. Akari declines at first but later gives him a painting, leading to the start of their romantic relationship.

Akari and Yuhara begin dating after she manages to give him one of her paintings. She then travels with Yuhara to Nara to learn Buddhist statue restoration techniques, deepening their bond.

On their day off, Teruo and Komori travel to Nara to visit Akari and Yuhara. They enjoy spending time together, marking a moment of friendship and connection amidst their personal journeys.

Akari continues to paint homeless artists and their environments, which reflects her curiosity and admiration for unconventional art forms. She develops a deeper connection with Yuhara through their shared interest in restoration and art.
