Father Damon shoots dead a man outside the castle-like estate on an island in upstate New York. The man claims to be Lucifer and promises to return, casting a dark omen over the community.

In 1963, Andrew Williams is born. As his mother is paralyzed under mysterious circumstances, his father grows suspicious that Andrew may be the son of Lucifer, a notion that will haunt him for years.

By 1980, Andrew is academically brilliant but emotionally withdrawn, making him a frequent target for bullying by his peers. He remains detached from social life while excelling in class.

Andrew feels drawn to the estate where Father Damon killed, a property slated for demolition to make way for a golf course. The lure of the abandoned place foreshadows the supernatural forces tied to his lineage.

In gym class, Tony tries to harass Andrew in the shower, but Andrew's latent powers erupt and result in a kiss between them in front of classmates. The moment leaves Tony shaken and frightened of Andrew.

Andrew learns he has received scholarships to Ivy League schools, including Yale and Harvard, but he remains indifferent to the news. The achievement contrasts with his sense of isolation.

Margaret, an elderly neighbor, visits Father Daly to discuss Father Damon, whom she believes was Lucifer. Daly maintains that Damon was wrongly convicted, suggesting a larger struggle between good and evil.

During a gym class, classmate Mark suffers fatal injuries from a dodgeball accident-like event, dying suddenly. Mark's girlfriend Julie is tormented by visions of Andrew raping her and begins hearing voices naming Gabrielle, directing her to Margaret's home.

On the night of a school dance, Andrew arrives at the island castle estate, where he invokes Leviathan and Beelzebub and summons the undead from the graves. The event marks a turning point as dark forces take hold.

Meanwhile, Andrew's father, in a drunken rage, rants about his son being the devil before returning home and shoots his wife in the head. The act deepens the sense that violence follows Andrew.

An outdoor play retelling Jesus' life on a nearby stage witnesses the actor playing Jesus suddenly bearing real stigmata, provoking panic as the audience flees. The moment mirrors the unfolding supernatural chaos around Andrew.

A group of youths who arrive to party at the estate are attacked by the undead; Marie is killed in the onslaught, heightening the horror surrounding the island property.

Tony, tormented by the night's events, discovers an alarming physical change and is confronted by Andrew who kisses him. Overwhelmed, Tony stabs himself to avoid further horror.

Andrew carries Brenda outside and stabs her to death on an altar, completing another dark rite. The ritual atmosphere tightens the estate's murderous energy.

Margaret and Julie arrive with Father Damon's cross, forcing Andrew to recoil. He is tricked into reciting the Lord's Prayer and transforms into Mark, only to be confronted by Julie as the full forces of good emerge. The spirits of Julie, Father Damon, and Margaret coalesce as Andrew is engulfed and destroyed in a beam of light.
