Charley and Thelma, both wealthy, are desperate to avoid gold‑digging suitors. Charley learns a distant uncle supposedly left him a fortune, so his lawyers send him to a resort to escape opportunistic women. The news spreads, and numerous single ladies, including the affluent Thelma, set their sights on him. A booking error places Charley and Thelma in the same suite, each assuming the other is after money. Their comedic clash involves a dressing gown, a radio, a pistol, a keyhole, and a nosy hotel detective, while the truth of the inheritance remains uncertain.
