Stephen Lee opposes his nephew Wally Sanders’s intention to marry chorus girl Violet Dayne, convinced that every chorus girl is a ruthless gold‑digger after a man’s money. In retaliation, Violet’s friend Jerry La Mar pretends to pursue Stephen, hoping to prove Violet’s genuine, self‑less nature. As the ruse unfolds, Jerry discovers she has fallen for Stephen herself.
