Deputy Waterhouse and Sheriff Proctor drive to the quarry with two corpses in the truck. In the 1970s, Jake and her brother Sean go to the quarry to confront her fear of jumping. Sean dives in to help, but he does not surface, leaving Jake traumatized. She trips, slashes her forehead, and bears a lasting scar as panic spreads through the family.

Deputy Freeman informs Waterhouse, now the sheriff, that his grandson has drowned in the quarry. The heartbreaking news compounds the town's unrest and foreshadows the personal costs of the quarry's history.

Jake struggles with survivor's remorse and sinks into depression. Willie Proctor, grandson of the old sheriff, develops a crush on her, drawing attention from his grandfather and deepening the generational tension connected to the quarry.

Wyeth and his gypsy brothers reveal they can bring Sean back—but only if someone dies in his place. Jake agrees to the brutal bargain and is taken to a cabin on Proctor's property where a blood oath is sealed. The ritual binds Jake to a dangerous debt that will soon demand a sacrifice.

The next day, Jake's mother confronts Waterhouse, and he asks Jake to identify the gypsy brothers. Remembering the oath, Jake denies ever seeing them, choosing silence over exposure. Her lie preserves the danger but buys time to decide her next move.

Jake tries to lure Willie to the quarry, but guilt overwhelms her and she cannot push him. The moment reveals how tangled the past is with the present and plants seeds for the future reckoning.

Wyeth's pressure grows as Jake's mother is frightened by the threat, and blood begins to pour from between her legs, signaling the cost of the bargain. Jake goes to her grandfather's house and steals the necklace that Wyeth has been hiding, trying to disrupt the chain of events.

Wyeth tells Jake that bringing Sean back requires Willie’s death, intensifying the moral knot. Separately, the doctor informs Waterhouse that his daughter will live but the baby cannot be saved, deepening the personal losses surrounding the case.

Waterhouse arrests the three gypsy brothers and takes them to jail, attempting to end the circle of violence. In a drunken rage, Proctor starts dousing the gypsy cabin with alcohol, sparking chaos and prompting threats of revenge until the brothers escape.

Waterhouse heads to the cabin, only to be shot by Proctor; he returns fire as both men lie dying. The brothers head home, and Wyeth warns that his revenge is near, heightening the sense that the past has not finished with them.

A sequence of flashbacks reveals Proctor raping the gypsy mother and Waterhouse’s complicity in the ensuing murders. The memories illuminate the quarry's cursed history and the motives behind the present-day events.

In the climactic moment, Jake realizes the bargain's price and leaps into the water to save others. She sees Sean's figure beneath the surface as he pulls the necklace from her neck, then returns to the surface with Willie calling for help from above.
