Set in early Showa, Yakumo enters rakugo, befriending storyteller Yurakutei and learning from geisha Miyokichi. When Yurakutei and Miyokichi marry and die in a mysterious accident, Yakumo adopts their daughter Konatsu. Now grown, Konatsu blames Yakumo and, with his disciple Yotaro, seeks the hidden truth of their parents’ death.
